  1. I was reflecting that “Portals to Freedom” would make a wonderful read book, which would particularly come to life read out loud. The insight into Abdu’l Baha offered would also be very meaningful.

The December 28 2010 letter from the UHJ woudl be great! We are supposed to study this alongside the Ridvan 2010 letter. Thanks.

  3. Negin Bullen says:

Listening to the recent messages from the Universal House of Justice would be a great way to solidify our study of the letters.

  4. Jon Rezin says:

    Hey Matt,

The Dec 28th Letter is on its way. Make sure you are on the email list to get the update as soon as it comes out.

One of my all time favorite books, utterly moving, and often the first book I recommend to anyone interested in the history of the Faith is “Release the Sun” by Bill Sears. I listen to audiobooks ALL THE TIME, and I’ve often thought about how that would be my number ONE choice for a Bahai audiobook.

“Release the Sun” basically takes “The Dawnbreakers” and distills it down, leaving a much shorter (much more manageable and less intimidating), and unbelievably powerful narrative. Would certainly make for an amazing audiobook.

Also, I second “Portals to Freedom.” It would also make a fantastic audiobook.

Last thought – I’ve listened to quite a bit of the Baha’u'llah’s writings in audio format (from various sources). Sometimes it’s perfect, but I often opt to wait to read the sacred writings at a slow, deliberate pace, without public, driving, or other distractions. For this reason, I am MUCH more interested in having other Bahai related books turned into audio format. For example, Revelation of Baha’u'llah by Teherzadeh could also be great. The point being this: moving stories, inspiring narrative, informative history, uplifting discussions are all perfect for listening while I walk the dog, ride the bus, or drive. Listening to the direct Word of God, however, is better if I am alone, and completely focused. Truth is, I usually don’t listen to books in such a state . . . I read instead. (I feel the same way about Shoghi Effendi’s writings, but for a different reason . . . it’s not direct revelation, but his manner of writing requires closer study and contemplation, rather than casual listening).

    My 2 cents.

  6. Elizabeth Steinki says:

Vignettes from the life of Abdu’l-Baha, there are so many great stories in it. much love Elizabeth

  7. Jim Randle says:

    I would like to recommend
Some Answered Questions as a good audio book
    folllowed by the DawnBreakers

  8. Jim Randle says:

As I suffer from treatment resistant visual and auditory hallucinations since a breakdown in 1975 I find that Chapter 71 of Some Answered Questions ‘Visions and Communication with Spirits’ is a great help. So I would recommend Some Answered Questions as the next publication. It would be a Godsend..

  9. Sebsatian says:

I would like to vote for all of them! Some Answered Questions is also the book that I’ve been thinking would be great to walk around listening to. But really, I’m just so happy with this development that I don’t mind which order you record and release them in, as long as you do all of them in the fullness of time. Thank you!!!!

  10. Mary says:

Thank you, thank you for this wonderful service!!! My husband, a long-time Baha’i, is losing his eyesight to macular degeneration. It is wonderful to be able to provide a way he can still be inspired by the writings of the Faith. I hope, once you have translated the books of the central figures of the covenant, you will be able to publish the inspirational books on the early believers, such as “The Delight of Hearts, The Memoirs of Haji Mirza Haydar Ali”, translated and abridged by A. Q. Faizi, ISBN 0-933770-11-1. As isolated homefront pioneers we find the early stories of the central figures, early believers and pioneering stories to be of great value to individual and community alike. A light in the sometimes darkness.

  11. Jon Rezin says:

    Thanks Mary,

We are so glad you and your husband are finding this service to be of value. It is our intention to expand into the historical texts of the faith as well. Those stories are just begging to be made into audio. We look forward to sharing them with you in the not too distant future.

  12. Henry says:

Thank you so much for your services. It is very helpful.
I know it would be very long, but my suggestion is a book about the history of the faith like God Passes By.

  13. maryam says:

I would like to hear “The priceless Pearl”. It is like “War and Peace” when I read it the scenes move before my eyes.

  14. Fereshte says:

I absolutely loved the “Advent of Divine Justice” in audio book. I listened to it at least 5 times. I would love to listen to the authoritative books as well as the history book such as “Revelation of Baha’u'llah” by Adib Tahirzadeh all 4 volumes. The audio books are fantastic particularly when you are driving or working at home.

  15. Jon Rezin says:

    Fereshte,

you are so kind. i am thrilled to hear that The Advent of Divine justice has been such a great resource for you… rest assured many more titles are coming in the next couple months… we have been quite busy over here. We cannot wait to share! And thank you for the suggestion of The Revelation of Bahá’u'lláh series… that is an amazing collection… in due time we may tackle that… I know I would love to have that in audio myself!
